The 34th annual Trout Derby was held on April 20th and 21st, 2024.  450 tagged fish were available for catching and every fish was worth a minimum prize of $25.00. Many fish were worth considerably more, with several worth $1000.00 thanks to generous sponsors.

This year, there were 1287 anglers registered to participate in the derby. While many un-tagged trout were caught and released, including some rainbows up to 24 inches, only 131 of the tagged fish were turned in for prize money. The cash prizes for tagged fish totaled $7,275.00 to the lucky anglers.

The Community Fish, always tagged with tag number 1, was not caught. However, it was worth $6,710.00. The drawing was held on Sunday at 3:15 pm, and Justin Fronk was the lucky winner of the drawing. He was presented a check from the Wellsville Lions Club for $3,355.00. Congratulations to Justin, and thanks to all those who bought tickets for the drawing!
