Support the Trout Derby by Sponsoring Fish
There will be 450 tagged fish available for the fishermen to catch for cash prizes. The Lions Club relies on community support for those cash prizes. Businesses and individuals pledge specific amounts of cash for a fish or a number of fish. The amount that they pledge is then assigned, in their name, to the number of fish they committed to sponsor. Sponsors can select specific tag numbers on the fish for their pledge. If those tag numbers are available, they will be assigned as requested. The sponsor’s name is then placed on the big fish board in Trout Derby Headquarters for all to see.
Sponsors are only obligated to pay for the fish that they sponsored if those fish are caught. If they are caught, the Lions Club will send the sponsor an invoice with the information on which fish were caught and which registered fisherman caught them.
Some sponsors elect to donate their fish sponsorships to the Wellsville Lions Club by paying for their sponsored fish up front. This generosity is always greatly appreciated. All the fish sponsorships provide the necessary funds for the Lions to continue the community service that they are dedicated to.
And, don’t forget, the Wellsville Lions Charities, Inc is a 502c(3) non-profit organization. Any donations are tax exempt.
We do have a number of ways for you to sponsor fish. The old-fashioned method is to print out the Fish Sponsor Form. Click on the link and you can then fill it out and mail it in as detailed on the form. If you choose to donate you sponsorship, you can send a check with your form. If you choose to use more modern technology, there are forms below that you can use to sponsor fish electronically. Fill in the Sponsor Form and submit it with the necessary information. We will send you a confirmation email that we have received your sponsorship. If you choose to donate your sponsorship, you can fill out the Donor Form, which is below the Sponsor Form, and pay for the sponsored fish with a credit or debit card. Again, we will send you an email confirmation that we have received your donation. Regardless of the method that you choose, your support is greatly appreciated.
